Capturing those tiny, curled-up moments is why I encourage early newborn bookings — because these fleeting days are pure magic.

Sharing real stories, expert advice, and the heart behind my lens at Adele Morris Photography studio in Porthcawl.

Hi, I’m Adele Morris, a multi-award-winning newborn and family photographer based in Porthcawl, Bridgend. You might know me from behind the camera at Adele Morris Photography, capturing beautiful moments for families either in my cosy Porthcawl studio or out on location across the stunning coastlines and countryside of South Wales. But there’s more to what I do than just delivering pretty pictures.

I wanted to create a space that let you in a little deeper, beyond the gallery walls and the carefully posed moments. A space where I could share real client stories, helpful guidance, behind-the-scenes snippets, and honest reflections from life as a photographer and mum. Somewhere that felt like an extension of the warm, calm, and trusted experience families receive when they step into a session with me.

And that’s how this blog was born, not just as part of Adele Morris Photography, but as a way to connect with you on a more personal level. Whether you're searching for answers about when to book, wondering what really happens during a newborn shoot, or simply want to see how real families experience their sessions with me, you're in the right place.

Why I Created the Adele Morris Photography Blog

1. To Support New and Expectant Families

I still remember how overwhelming those early parenting days felt, the questions, the what-ifs, the sleepless nights. After my own journey through pregnancy loss and then becoming a mum to three, I knew I wanted to create more than just beautiful images. I wanted to create a space that supported new and expectant families emotionally and practically.

This blog is here to be a reassuring corner of the internet, filled with real-life, useful advice. Whether you're wondering what to pack in your hospital bag, how to choose the right newborn photographer, or when to book your session, I’ve got you.

You'll find gentle tips on preparing for your maternity shoot, settling your baby during your newborn session, and what to expect every step of the way. Because at Adele Morris Photography, it’s never just about pretty pictures, it’s about giving you a calm, stress-free experience where you feel seen, supported, and safe.

2. To Share Behind-the-Scenes Moments & Real Client Stories

Every session that comes through the doors of my Porthcawl photography studio has its own unique story, joyful, emotional, sometimes bittersweet. Some of my most meaningful sessions have been with rainbow babies, NICU graduates, or families welcoming long-awaited little ones after fertility journeys or loss.

This blog gives me a space to honour those stories – always with sensitivity and consent, and share what goes on behind the lens at Adele Morris Photography. From the magic of setting up one of my dreamy newborn backdrops to the care I take in posing safely, styling props, or working with siblings and toddlers, I want to show you the heart behind the art.

I’ll also take you behind the curtain during model calls, mini sessions, and day-to-day life in the studio so you can feel even more confident about what to expect when you book.

3. To Raise Awareness and Give Back

Giving back is at the very core of what I do. I use this blog to share the powerful, tender work I do through Remember My Baby, a charity providing remembrance photography to grieving families.

This work is deeply personal to me, and while the stories may be heavy, they deserve to be told, with dignity, compassion, and care. Through this space, I hope to raise awareness, encourage other photographers to get involved, and honour the babies and families whose legacies deserve to be remembered.

You’ll also see posts around my charity runs, awareness campaigns, and the causes that matter most to me as a photographer and as a mum.

4. To Answer the Questions You’re Already Asking

Whether you’re:

  • Wondering when to book your newborn photoshoot in Bridgend

  • Debating between a mini session or a full family session

  • Unsure how your lively toddler will handle a photoshoot

  • Curious about how I ensure safety during a session

  • Or simply wondering what makes Adele Morris Photography different...

…you’ll find honest, practical answers right here.

This blog is built for you, the parent who wants to feel informed, reassured, and excited about your session. I bring nearly two decades of experience working with children and families, and every post is shaped with both that expertise and my real-life experience as a mum.

5. Because Photos Are Just the Start

At Adele Morris Photography, the image is never the end goal. Yes, I want to give you breathtaking photographs of your baby or your family, but more than that, I want you to feel truly seen.

Photography, to me, is about connection, trust, and telling your story in a way that lasts for generations. And this blog is one more way I can connect with you beyond the camera, by sharing what inspires me, how sessions work, and how I approach each shoot with care, intention, and heart.

Whether you're booking a newborn session in Bridgend, celebrating a long-awaited rainbow baby, or simply curious about the process, my hope is that this blog helps you feel confident, reassured, and truly understood.
